Birmingham, AL, USA — June 2003
This museum is close to Birmingham International Airport. You will find many aircraft in their Website. However, most of them are under restoration or are enclosed with a wired fence, which prevents people from approaching them. Propeller-driven aircraft are mainly displayed in the museum building, which is not very big.
The Wild Blue Yonder Open House is held in May every year. The admission to the museum becomes free, and you can enter the enclosed display area. Air rides are offered by the Birmingham Aero Club ($35 per person, 2005).
Ling Temco Vought (LTV) A-7 Corsair II
It was a little bit difficult to take good pictures for this aircraft. It might be better to find the same model in the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

McDonnell Douglas TA-4J Skyhawk: Instrumental Simulator
This simulator has only a cockpit. You can find the whole aircraft in the National Museum of Naval Aviation or NAS Pensacola.
2003/06
Since the Pitts Special is designed for aerobatic flights, you can find it at airshows. This aircraft has only one seat and the two-seater model is the S-2.
2003/06
This is one of the aircraft displayed in the enclosed area next to Birmingham Airport. The helicopter can lift a big, heavy object under the body.
