Williamsburg was the capital of the British colony of Virginia from 1699 to 1780. Now we can visit the 18th-century, colonial style streets in Colonial Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg consists of most of the buildings that comprised the original colonial capital of Williamsburg, some of which have been reconstructed on their original sites. Many other structures have been restored to their original 18th century appearances. Workers there wear costumes in 18th century.

You can enjoy walking and visiting souvenir shops and restaurants even if you do not buy a ticket to most of the buildings in Colonial Williamsburg. The College of William and Mary was established in the town in 1693, which is located next to Colonial Williamsburg.

Fife and Drum Corps

Fifes and Drummers seemed to be an important part of the 18th century military.

Restaurant "Shields Tavern"

There are several restaurants in Colonial Williamsburg. You would enjoy colonial style food. In this restaurant, we set at a table below the roof. The host in colonial style costume come to the table and greet us.

For lunch, you may wait for a while (around ten minutes in our case) to enter without reservation. For dinner, it might be better to make a reservation beforehand, or you wait for a long time. They do not open every day.

Bruton Parish Church

You can enter the church free of charge.

Houses

There were almost no cars in Colonial Williamsburg. Houses sometimes came and we sometimes found their drops on the streets.

Governor's Palace

Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to enter the building. You can find some pictures on their Website, which look very nice.

Sheep

Sheep enjoyed eating grass and taking a rest under trees.

Houses

On the street, there are many big trees and old houses.
