Airshow Tips
If you are more or less interested in airplanes, you will probably enjoy airshows! You would be happy if bringing the following items (especially the first three items in summer):
- Sunglasses: remember that you watch the sky for hours.
- Sunscreen: you need to be careful with not only the direct sunshine but also the reflected sunshine especially if you are in a base.
- Long sleeve shirt or jacket: a long sleeve shirt may be useful if you are sensitive to sun, or the weather may be cold.
- Water: you can get on-site, but it might be better to bring some water.
- Comfortable walking shoes: you would walk a lot to see static display aircraft.
- Earplugs: if you are in front of an idling jet-airplane, you may be surprised at its high-frequency, deafening noise.
- Hat or cap
- Folding chairs
- Cameras (still and video)
- Cash
- Photo ID
In the United States
If you go to a U.S. base, it might be a good idea to visit their Website beforehand and check prohibited items and requirements. You may be asked:
- Random vehicle inspection at a gate
- Security checks at an entry control point for the airshow area
- Not to bring backpacks, cooler boxes, glass containers and so on to the airshow area
- No smoking
